MOHAVE II
The Measurements of Humidity in the Atmosphere and Validation Experiments (MOHAVE) II campaign took place at the JPL Table Mountain Facility (TMF) on October 6-17, 2007. This campaign, endorsed by the Network for the Detection of Stratospheric Composition Change (NDACC), allowed a updated evaluation of the Water Vapor Raman Lidar measurements up to the lower stratosphere following the lessons learned from the first campaign in 2006. In particular it showed that, with a well-designed lidar receiver configuraiton, fluorescence contamination in the UTLS (z>10 km) can be succesfully removed. Simultaneous and co-located measurements included the following:
- 3 water vapor Raman lidars (JPL/Leblanc, GSFC/McGee and GSFC/Whiteman) [0-20 km]
- 10 CFH launches (JPL/Leblanc and GSFC/Whiteman) [0-30 km]
- 48 RS92 launches (JPL/Leblanc and GSFC/Whiteman) [0-12 km]
- 1 microwave radiometer (NRL/Nedoluha ) [40-80 km and total column]
